Spam is sent by people who gather data and information about others and sell to third parties. These third parties then send emails to either promote their businesses. Normally not knowing the source of a given email should warn you to be careful of opening or clicking on clicks and downloading attached files.

There are a lot of email protection programs that one can use. Some of them are free so require no cost while it still effectively protects you. To continue using your email and still getting protected you must be careful and choose software that will meet your needs and still not cause any damage for you.

The first thing you want to do is to read forums and reviews to know how good a product actually is. You must also know if the program will work well with all of your email clients and create not restrictions. Spam protection programs are not perfect however in filtering spam emails before they actually enter your inbox. The program can keep potential and valid mails from getting to your inbox as it might treat it as a spam. There is no need for despair however as normally they are kept in a separate folder from your inbox.

Email categorized as spam can be transferred from the spam folder to the inbox easily when found and normally future mail from the same source will be transferred to the inbox. An alternative is to use email-spamming programs which you can use to manually check if the mail is genuine or a spam. Once installed all it requires is for you to use it to scan individual emails.
